In short succession, the Governor suspended the Constitution, announced Martin Stanley as the new Chief Executive, named the members of his Advisory Council, distributed the rules by which the council shall operate and appointed twelve TCI Belongers as members of the new Consultative Forum. Under the Order in Council amending the TCI Constitution, the Consultative Forum is to include between eleven and fifteen appointed members, chosen from among persons representative of the community. According to the Governor’s statement, the functions of the Forum are to make recommendations on proposed legislation, policies or proposed policies referred to it by the Governor, or on any other matter brought to it by one of its members.

The elected members are:

Rev Scott Brennen
Karen Delancy
Ethlyn Gibbs-Williams
Rev Derek Hamilton
Lillian Misick
Sharlene Robinson
Drexwell Seymour
Patricia Simmons
Carlos Simons QC
Dr Linda Williams

The appointed members will be joined on the forum by the Chief Executive, Attorney General and Permanent Secretary (Finance), who will serve as ex officio members. The Governor is expected to announce the rules for the conduct of business in the Forum shortly. The forum is expected to meet publicly.
