Dr. Edward E. Smith has announced that he will be seeking election to the House of Assembly as an independent at-large candidate. Smith has a BBA degree in Accounting and Management Science, MSc. degree in International Business and a PhD. degree in Organization and Management, specialization in Leadership, according to a press release from the candidate. He holds graduate certificates in Human Resource Management; and Management of Non-Profit Agencies. He is a licensed accountant, and a fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants (U.K.) since 1977; a licensed K-12 educator since 1983; a certified fraud examiner (CFE) – education since 1987; and a certified pilot since 1992. “In my dual profession as an administrator and educator, I have many years of hands-on, relative and recent experiences in industry, government, and educational environments, both public and private settings; and served on numerous not-for-profit boards of directors,” Smith said.
