Digicel TCI, as well as private funding, has made it possible for a handful of lucky Turks and Caicos Islands Rugby Football Union youth rugby players to attend a week-long rugby camp in Dublin, Ireland. The selected few include Franco Mompremier, Luis Turbyfield, LJ Outten, Preston Burant and Kenny Mullins. This exciting opportunity has been awarded to these juniors who have continuously displayed the right combination of attitude, ability and diligence at trainings and matches. The youngsters jetted off recently to the Leinster Rugby School of Excellence where they will further their rugby knowledge and skills under the watchful eyes of some of Ireland’s top rugby coaches. During the week, players partake in a structured rugby development programme. Emphasis will be placed on skill development, game understanding, activity and enjoyment. In particular, players will develop core rugby skills and learn to perform them under challenging conditions through high class coaching in a professional environment. Along with benefiting from world-class rugby training, the group will also spend time before and after the camp sampling Irish culture and sightseeing throughout Ireland. This year sees the Leinster School of Excellence Summer Camp mark its 14th year in existence. Started by Leinster Academy Manager Colin McEntee in 1998, it has developed over the years to become a highlight of the summer calendar for many players.
