Tourist struck, killed by boat while snorkeling PDF Print E-mail

A 44-year-old tourist from New York was killed when he was struck by a boat while snorkeling on Grace Bay beach on Providenciales.

Police said Mark Wiley Lane, 44, was rushed to hospital by ambulance following the incident, which happened at about 3:30 p.m. on March 24.

He suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead by doctors at 4:50 p.m.

The accident is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, the Marine Branch and officials from Department of Environmental and Coastal Resources.
