![]() Digicel announced Aug. 31 that it has hit the 11 million customer mark across its 32 markets worldwide. Since launching in Jamaica nine and a half years ago, Digicel has grown rapidly and today offers its special brand of best value, best service and best network mobile communications across the Caribbean, Central America and the Pacific. Digicel achieved 10 percent subscriber growth year on year and increased its market share quarter on quarter in all of its major markets — El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Papua New Guinea and Trinidad & Tobago. In the last few weeks, Digicel has successfully launched two ground-breaking new technologies with the rollout of 3G+ in Bermuda and the introduction of WiMAX technology to Jamaica with the launch of Digicel 4G Broadband. “It’s an exciting time for us,” said Colm Delves, Digicel Group CEO. “We are very pleased with the continued growth we are achieving across all of our markets, and our new technology launches in Bermuda and Jamaica have been really well received and are set to change the mobile and broadband landscapes in those markets. “With our customers continuing to enjoy our focus on best value, best service and best network, we would like to thank them for their ongoing commitment to Digicel and to assure them that we will keep giving them reasons to stay with the Bigger, Better Network,” Delves said.
