Crime Corner: Jai’s jewelers on Grace Bay robbed by 3 masked men PDF Print E-mail

Three masked men robbed the Grace Bay location of Jai’s jewelers on Saturday afternoon, July 10, police said.

Police said a woman helped the robbers get into the upscale guarded store. The woman pretended to drop her purse in the entryway, allowing the robbers to rush the security guard manning the door.

Two of the masked men were armed with guns and the third had a cutlass.

After gaining entry, the masked men robbed the business of a quantity of Rolex watches, according to police reports.

Police say they have two TI males in custody who are assisting in the investigations.

Conch Shack in Blue Hills robbed by 3 masked men

Three masked men armed with guns robbed Da Conch Shack on Thursday night, July 8, police said.

The men robbed the restaurant of a quantity of cash and fled the scene on foot. Police say investigations are in progress.

Police charge woman for possession of flare gun

On Thursday, July 8, police on Grand Turk charged Kathlin Cox, a 28-year-old TI living in Grand Turk, for unlawful possession of a firearm, namely a flare gun, and obstruction and resisting arrest for an incident on Wednesday, July 7, in Backsalina, Grand Turk.

Fleeing burglary suspect struck by vehicle, injured

A man suspected of an attempted burglary at R and R Town Homes in the Bight was struck by a car while trying to escape, police said.

Two Town Homes employees detained two people suspected of attempting burglary, but one got away and was struck by a white Toyota Corolla motor car which did not stop, police said.

The suspect received head injuries and was taken to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre by ambulance for medical attention. Police are investigating.

Police hit three night clubs; arrest, detain Dominicans

On Saturday morning, July 10, law enforcement officers on Providenciales conducted a multi-site operation at the 2005 Night Club on Five Cays Road, Cameo’s Night Club on Airport Road and Pumpy’s Bar in Five Cays.

One female Dominican national was arrested for assault on police, and one female Dominican national was arrested on suspicion of prostitution.

Four female Dominican nationals and two male Dominican nationals were detained for immigration purposes.
