The TCI National Kidney Foundation says the Dialysis Centre has been successfully moved from the Airport Inn Plaza to the new Cheshire Hall Medical Centre. “All kidney patients undergoing dialysis are now receiving treatment in state of the art facilities. Essential drugs and treatment that sometimes had to be paid for out of foundation funds should now be fully covered by government funding in concert with Interhealth, the operator of the new hospitals,” the foundation said in a statement. “However, with the transfer of patient care to the new hospitals managed by Interhealth in professionally designed clinical surroundings, most of the directors and interim committee including the president feel that most of the work of the foundation has come to an end and in this regard resigned on the 22nd of April,” the foundation said. The foundation thanked the departing officers for their service to kidney patients in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The foundation also reported that Price Waterhouse Coopers has inspected the foundation’s accounts in preparation to use new accounting software. “Statements will be produced for all patients and exhibited in the Dialysis Centre on a three monthly basis covering income and expenditure,” the foundation said.
