The Turks and Caicos Islands Airport Authority announced on March 19 its short list of bidders for the first phase of the Providenciales airport expansion project and expects to choose from four companies by April 6. Companies still in the running are Dexter Construction Ltd. ($36.4 million), IDL Projects/Springpoint ($34 million), Turquoise Construction Company Ltd. ($33.8 million) and Kier Construction Ltd. ($36.7 million), the authority said in a press release. “The listed above will make full presentations on their tender submissions to the panel during the week commencing 29th March, following which the selection process intends to conclude with a preferred bidder.” “Further discussions with the preferred bidder will then continue with the aim of securing the best value for money outcome for the Turks and Caicos Islands.” “(TCIAA) thanks all entities which participated in the tender process and submitted bids for the TCI airport expansion project.” The bids that were opened March 1 were for airside works, which include lengthening the runway to accommodate larger aircraft.
