![]() Three weeks after signing a contract with David Hartshorn, owner of Projetech Construction, PPC has officially broken ground at their new state-of-the-art Corporate Headquarters and Customer Service Centre. The new facility on Leeward Highway adjacent to the company’s power plant will add convenience factor for those who need to transact an array of business, from bill payment to opening new accounts to energy management services. PPC’s new corporate home will be situated on the 17-acre plant site. The building will cover 36,000 square feet and will include a three-story building, plus a full basement. The extensive project is scheduled to be fully completed by June 2011 and will accommodate the following departments: administrative, operations, engineering, finance, human resources, information technology, corporate communications, safety, environment, training and customer service, including cash, credit, meter reading and accounts. “We are incredibly excited to have reached such an important milestone,” said Eddinton Powell, chief executive officer and president of PPC. “The overall factor driving the investment in the new facility is our commitment to deliver world class service to our customers. “This new complex will greatly enhance customer service delivery, employee development, and overall corporate productivity and efficiency. Our ground-breaking represents the continued commitment of our parent company, Fortis Inc., to the Turks and Caicos Islands, and has the immediate practical effect of creating jobs for our people at a time when jobs are surely needed.”
