Police investigators have confirmed the information previously reported on the fatal crash yesterday, Monday, in Grand Turk. On Monday afternoon 12th January 2009 sometime between 1.00 pm-1.30pm there was a
fatal accident on The Ridge Grand Turk which claimed the lives of Lea Astwood Jr., 18 yrs, and Brendon Harris, 19yrs. The two men, who were traveling in a black 1999 Jaguar Type 4, car Reg # 17618, owned by Marron Sturrup. A second car involved was being driven by Robert Bart, 19yrs old, accompanied by John Green Jr., 17yrs old. Robert Bart & John Green Jr. both received injuries and were airlifted later that night to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida for further medical attention. The accident is being fully investigated by the local Grand Turk police. We will report more as further information is available. (pictures provided by a local resident)
