Providenciales was buzzing on Sunday, September 13, with over 250 Sandals team members along with travel agents from Canada and members of the TCI community working to undertake a wide range of community improvement projects. The 10 projects set out by the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts, The Sandals Foundation, encompassed everything from planting trees, to improving playgrounds to fixing up the buildings at the Conch Farm.

The workers, including Sandals CEO Adam Stewart, set out to work on tasks divided into 1 and 2 day projects and the assignments included everything from planting to painting. The Holy Family Flower garden and DECR projects were completed in one day, whereas the larger projects such as the Green House at Enid Capron are scheduled for two full days of work.

The second phase of work will commence on Friday, September 16th. The workers enjoyed their efforts so far and were proud of the improvements they made to the island. They are also looking forward to completing the works on Friday and seeing lots of happy children and conch enjoy the fruits of their effort.

In addition to the labour provided by the Beaches Resorts and Spa’s employees and the Flight Centre travel consultants, a donation of over 30 coconut trees from Sunshine Nursery contributed to this community outreach project.
